You will be responsible for the collection, delivery and installation (where required) of equipment designed to assist people with disabilities in their own homes. Bulkier items (e.g. profiling beds, hoists etc) would require the post holder to work as a member of a two person team. All requests for delivery/installation are instigated by a clinical team member after an assessment of the clients needs, an order for delivery is then processed by the JES admin team and collected, delivered, installed by an in-house team of which this post would form a part. Please note that this service operates from 8am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3:30pm on Friday. The position is a physically demanding one and you will need to be capable of carrying out a wide range of manual handling activities (lifting, pulling, pushing etc.). All work schedules are managed with the use of handheld devices so an understanding of mobile technology/apps is essential. The post requires you to operate small commercial vans (under 7.5T) and a clean driving licence is therefore essential. You will be delivering and entering into vulnerable residents homes and a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check is another essential requirement of the position.
